TeamAsia to offer master class in supply chain management
October 11, 2004
(Manila, Philippines) - Strategic marketing
and communications firm TeamAsia will conduct a five-part master
class program on supply chain management October 18-22, 2004 at
the ExportBank Plaza, Makati City.
Designed for directors, supply chain and procurement
managers, functional and general managers who want to drive the
performance and contribution of their suppliers through improved
supply chain management, the program is composed of four intensive
workshops that will cover the entire spectrum of supply chain optimization
- from basics to prime strategies.
The first workshop, "Supplier Evaluation, Selection
and Performance Measurement", set on October 18, will provide
the tools necessary to manage and develop supply base performance.
This includes methods and systems to collect and provide information
to measure, rate and rank supplier performance. Subsequent to this
is a workshop on "Supply Base Optimization" on October
19, which is the process of determining the right number and mix
of suppliers capable of world-class performance an organization
needs for effective supply chain management.
"Managing Supply Contracts" on October 20
will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to draw
together all facets of contract strategies and processes so as to
ensure successful contracting for all contracts, strategic or otherwise.
On October 21, the fourth workshop on "Supplier Development"
will commence. This will be about how organizations can improve
the performance of their suppliers to enable them to offer price
reductions, quality improvement and increased service to one's company.
The workshop covers activities designed to improve and accelerate
suppliers' performance capabilities.
Finally, "Supplier Partnering" on October
22 prepares companies to better identify suitable, potential partnership
opportunities based on world class and sustainable competitive advantage
for both parties and how to effectively manage the resulting relationship.
"The seminar culminates at supplier partnering
because supplier partnering is proving to be one of the most powerful
business tools for dealing with fast changing markets, technologies
and customers. As the global economy speeds up, partnering is becoming
the weapon of choice for today's successful competitors as it involves
developing relationships with an organization's 'key' strategic
suppliers," according to workshop facilitator E. John Blunt.
