The Event

The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) and Outsource2Philippines are organizing the second of a series of exclusive senior executive briefings in August that will take place periodically this year. Our second briefing is entitled, “Growth and Transformation: Shared Services and BPO in the Philippines.” It will take place August 4, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Taipan Restaurant, Tower Club, Philamlife Tower, Makati City.

A new survey by Hewitt and BPA/P documents the impressive growth of Shared Services in the Philippines. From relatively small facilities providing process-driven services, major multinational brands have expanded their Shared Services workforces dramatically and significantly transformed the nature of their work to encompass judgement-driven complex services over a broad scope of operations. According to the results of the survey, expansion and development is set to continue this year. The results of the latest BPAP-O2P quarterly survey also point to expansion of the BPO industry overall.

Growth and Transformation: Shared Services and BPO in the Philippines” will provide key insights into the government’s role in supporting Shared Services as the industry evolves. It will discuss issues of strategic importance to the new administration: business environment, support for foreign investment, educational infrastructure, labor policy, infrastructure investment, and improving perception of the Philippines internationally. The briefing will also provide the venue for the presentation of the results of our latest industry survey with Hewitt on the growth of Shared Services in the industry and the role of the government in enhancing the country’s image as a BPO hub.

Hewitt and BPA/P executives will present their findings alongside senior officials of the Aquino administration, who are expected to outline their support for Shared Services and BPO.
