The Event

The Offshoring and Outsourcing (O&O) industry is growing very rapidly. Serious O&O players — regardless of their size — will require access to capital to fuel growth. One alternative for accessing capital is equity funding. Multinational O&O service providers listed in their home countries may also seek to list shares publicly in the Philippines for other reasons, such as to facilitate stock option plans for employees.

Startups frequently turn to angel and venture capital investors for development funds. Investors looking to liquefy their investment in O&O startups may find an initial public offering the most viable opportunity to achieve their targeted return on investment. Outsource2Philippines (O2P) and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) with the support of the Philippine Stock Exchange will conduct a breakfast briefing to provide O&O executives the opportunity to evaluate alternatives for equity funding, and to acquaint themselves with the rules governing and processes involved in obtaining equity funding.

The briefing, which will take place Thursday, September 18 from 7:30 am - 10:30 am at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, will also provide insights into potential pitfalls as well as benefits of equity funding by a panel of O&O executives who have or soon will seek equity funding themselves. The breakfast briefing provides a unique opportunity to participate in an O&O-focused overview of equity funding alternatives for the industry.

As a backdrop to the panel discussion, O2P and BPA/P are conducting a special online survey of BPA/P members and other O&O professionals to gauge industry interest in equity funding, and how funding will be put to use.

As our initial breakfast briefing in April demonstrated, we expect this briefing focusing on generating equity funding to be fully subscribed.
