Mobius.ph offers unlimited game play options for MU Online
Feb 04, 2005
MU players can avail of one week or one month unlimited game time
(Manila, Philippines) – Mobius.ph – which announced the commercial launch of massively multiplayer online role-playing game MU Online last month – announced today that the company has upgraded the value of popular MU prepaid cards to provide gamers with unlimited game play options.
MU prepaid cards are available in 20, 50, 100, and 350 peso denominations. Beginning today, 100 peso cards will entitle MU players to unlimited game play for one week (7 days) and 350 peso cards will provide unlimited game time for one month (30 days).
“This is in response to recommendations from our loyal player base since we believe that players are what make an online game work. With unlimited game time, MU gamers can stay logged on to MU without worrying about their credit balance. This will help foster the community aspect of the game as our players can spend more time conversing with each other instead of just leveling up all the time,” said Carlo Rufino, Mobius.ph director for game management.
“A huge part of MU is the in-game economy where our players trade or sell items to each other. By allowing unlimited play they can keep their ‘personal stores’ up all day so that they get a better chance of selling these to other players.”
Rufino said that MU gamers have responded well to the transition from free open beta trial to their pay-to-play service. “Card sales have been brisk. In the first week after going commercial, we sold millions of prepaid cards. We believe this is because the gaming community sees great entertainment value in our products and services. And gamers will actually have a lot more to look forward to from Mobius.ph this year – unique content and fun in-game events every month as well as offline meets and tournaments.”
Mobius.ph intends to introduce electronic and mobile payment channels for MU Online to supplement prepaid card distribution, with a credit card payment system already in place. Gamers can conveniently purchase MU game credits online by logging on to www.mobius.ph, navigating to the ‘my account’ page, and selecting the credit card payment option. MU Online prepaid cards are currently available at Internet cafés and PC Express outlets.
Rufino said the company is now offering the latest international version of MU Online, version 99z, in the Philippines. Dubbed “MU Dark Lord,” the game introduces a new character class with stronger weapons and items, new maps populated with tougher monsters, and more quest-based events. Ongoing tournaments this month include the “Devil Square” arena where gamers can acquire high experience points and “lots of bonus items.
