A study conducted by Forrester Research ranked public relations (PR) as the second most effective communications channel after in-person events for building brand image, and the third most-effective channel in generating qualified leads. The study, which involved 867 business-to-business marketers, found that PR is generally viewed as a more effective communication channel than TV, online marketing and direct mail.

These results validate the role of PR as a generator of credible information via news, events, and online content. As a result, PR more than ever drives communications of all kinds virtually all the time.
