TeamAsia aids Quezon City amidst contagion
While the COVID-19 pandemic has rattled the entire world, humanity has been doing their best in alleviating the anxiety and tension surrounding it. We have been able to witness people across the globe showing compassion towards their community and those in need. In the Philippines, certain organizations have also been stepping up to the plate to contribute to the betterment of the nation.
On March 28, TeamAsia aided the Quezon City local government in setting up 175 units of shell booth systems in Quezon City University. They served as sanitized and private isolation areas for their PUIs, due to the lack of hospital bed spaces in the area.
“Quezon City is very grateful to have found well-meaning partners in TeamAsia. Because of their swift response, we were able to build our HOPE II Community Caring Facility that will serve as a quarantine area for PUIs in Quezon City in a short period of time,” Councilor Aly Medalla shared, “It is during this great time of need when we appreciate those who answer to the call of helping our countrymen without hesitation. Thank you, TeamAsia!”
In order to make it all happen, we emailed and called our exhibit suppliers to produce the requirements for the shell booth systems. Through several back and forths, we managed to get different quotes and chose Centrex. They liaised with local government officials at Quezon City and obtained special permits to mobilize their crew to deliver and set up the booths.
We arranged everything to the best of our ability in less than a week. And we are still working on providing 50 to 60 more booth systems in another building in Quezon City for the same purpose.
We hope that this inspires you to help in any way you can; or simply give you faith that there indeed are better things ahead of us.
